Triathlon® Custom Fit Knee® featuring ShapeMatch® Technology: A Step By Step Guide

Your orthopaedic surgeon may select a Triathlon® Custom Fit Knee® with ShapeMatch® Technology. This procedure combines a Stryker Triathlon® Knee implant with three dimensional knee modeling. Read on to learn more about The Triathlon Knee System, ShapeMatch® Technology and how it can all come together to help get you back to your active lifestyle.

Step 1

Your doctor will give you a prescription to have a test called an MRI* (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). An MRI is a non-invasive scan that records detailed images of your knee.

Step 2

Proprietary software then utilizes the MRI images to create a three-dimensional knee model.

Step 3

Implant size and positioning is determined using the 3D model of your knee.

Step 4

With your presurgical modeling completed, your surgeon reviews the specifications based on the ShapeMatch® Technology. Following your surgeon's approval, customized guides are then manufactured for your surgeon to use in the operating room.

Result

With this innovative technology, your surgeon can position the implants to help restore the kinematics of your knee.

*If you are not eligible for an MRI, your doctor may prescribe a CT scan.
